Dr. Sonia
Sonia Gutierrez
DDS, MS
Dr. Sonia established Kids Dentist in Grayslake in 1994. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. Dr. Sonia earned her specialty degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Illinois Dental School in 1989 when she began practicing in the Chicago area. Her pediatric training involved two years of post doctoral education at the University of Illinois Dental School which allows her to treat childhood dentition problems, enables her to effectively deal with the emotions of children and paves the way for positive adult experiences.
Dr. Dave David Rutcosky
DDS, MS
Upon completion of undergraduate
studies, Dr. Dave began dental school
at Northwestern where he received his
DDS and distinguished himself by being
selected to the Dean's List. He completed
his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1998
and continued his education in
Pediatric Dentistry and the University of
Illinois. During his specialty training, he
completed his Master's in Oral Sciences.
Dr. Dave is an Associate Professor
at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
 		 Dr. Sahar 
Sahar Alrayyes 
DDS, MS
Dr. Sahar joined the Kids Dentist staff in
August of 2002 after completing her Masters
in Oral Science at the University of Illinois at 
Chicago. During her education at the U of I,
Dr. Sahar was Chief Resident and the Illinois
Society of Pediatric Dentistry Student 
Representative.  She is fluent in English and
Arabic and knows basic Spanish and sign 
language.
Cathy Russell, RDH Cathy
RDH Dental Hygienist
& Office Co-Manager
Cathy came to Kids Dentist in 1996. She
received her Degree in Dental Hygiene and
License as a Registered Dental Hygienist in
1972.  After 10 years in general practice, she
found her niche in Pediatric Dentistry.  Cathy
is certified in Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen
Conscious Sedation Analgesia Administration
& Infection Control. She serves as our O.S.H.A.
trainer & compliance person and co-manages
the clinical area of Kids Dentist.

                		Lisa Davi, RDH Lisa
RDH Dental Hygienist
Lisa joined the Kids Dentist team in
2002.  She was an assistant for 13 years
in general dentistry, orthodontics, and
pediatric dentistry.  Lisa graduated from
Marquette University as a Registered
Dental Hygienist in May 2002.  Lisa is
certified in Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen
Conscious Sedation Analgesia
Administration.
               
Dawn 
Dawn 
Office Manager 
Dawn is Certified in Coronal Polishing and 
Sealants. She earned her BS in Biology cum 
laude from Northeastern University. Dawn has 
been in the pediatric dental field since 1978 and 
has been with Kids Dentist since August of 1995.
Dawn is certified in Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen 
Conscious Sedation Analgesia Administration.
 Carmen
Dental Assistant
Carmen  is Certified in Coronal Polishing,
Sealants, and Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen
Conscious Sedation Analgesia
Administration.  She also fabricates dental
appliances for the office. Carmen is bilingual in
English and Spanish and has been with Kids
Dentist since 1996 when she worked in both the
Chicago and Grayslake locations.  Since the
sale of the Chicago practice in 1998, Carmen
has been in Grayslake full time. Carmen loves to
paint and design jewelry in her free time.
Don Don
Front Office Manager
Don is managing the front desk area at
Kids Dentist. He has been with Kids
Dentist since April of 2002.		 Rene 
Rene 
Dental Assistant
Rene is a graduate of the Midwest Dental 
Institute. She is a dental assistant at Kids 
Dentist and loves working with children. Rene
is certified in Nitrous Oxide & Oxygen
Conscious Sedation Analgesia 
Administration.
Tara Tara
Receptionist
Tara has been with Kids Dentist since
May of 2002.  She has worked in the 
dental field since graduating high school
ahead of schedule in January of 1998. 
She was an assistant for a general dentist
prior to joining the Kids Dentist team.

Receptionist

Liz has been with Kids Dentist since May of 2004.
She graduated from high school in June of 2003
and studied at the College of Lake County where she 
received her Certificate as a Nursing Assistant in 
December of 2003.  She speaks both English and 
Spanish fluently.

Tiffany
Assistant
 Tiffany came to Kids Dentist in May of 2004.

She is certified in Coronal Polishing and has

successfully completed her certification in

Nitrous Oxide Sedation.  She enjoys working

with orthodontic patients and is in the process

of training in fabrication of space maintainers.

 

Nacelen
Hygiene Assistant
Nacelen joined Kids Dentist in 2005.  She is bilingual and came to our office with prior dental experience.
